<p><br /> International Debate Conference with Tournaments<br /> People&rsquo;s Republic of China<br /> May 28/29 &amp; June 4/5, 2016</p> <p>Come to the People&rsquo;s Republic of China in 2016 to participate in a four-day international debate conference. Two universities will host US college debaters and judges for training and tournaments. Chinese universities will send Chinese students and judges.</p> <p>Beijing Foreign Studies University will host the first part of the conference on May 28 &ndash; 29, 2016.</p> <p>Xi&rsquo;an International Studies University will host the second part of the conference on June&nbsp;3&nbsp;&amp; 5, 2016.</p> <p>The first day on each campus will have an opening ceremony, training for students and judges, and a banquet.</p> <p>The second day on each campus will feature a four-round tournament culminating in a final round.</p> <p>All debates will be in British Parliamentary Format (WUDC). Debaters will be paired with a partner from the other country.&nbsp; These &ldquo;friendship teams&quot; will be randomly assigned at opening ceremonies.</p> <p>No prior experience is necessary. This is an excellent opportunity for students, university administrators, staff, and instructors to have an intercultural experience and learn about international debate in the People&rsquo;s Republic of China.</p> <p>There are no registration fees for the conference. US participants should register through forensicstournament.net (beginning in January, 2016). One registration will enter debaters and judges in both tournaments.</p> <p>Chinese participants will register through host schools. All active college undergraduates are eligible to debate. All others should register as judges.</p> <p>All participants must pay for their own travel and accommodations.</p> <p>Professor Gary Rybold, Irvine Valley College, will serve as Chief Adjudicator for the tournaments.
