WINTER DEBATE TOURNAMENT ENTRY
This tournament is open only to schools in the San Diego Imperial Valley Speech League.
Where: La Costa Canyon High School
Directions: From I-5, exit at Leucadia Blvd. and travel east approximately 2 miles. After crossing El Camino Real, Leucadia Blvd. will merge with and change names to Rancho Santa Fe Rd. – continue ahead as it veers slightly to the left. Turn right on Camino De Los Coches. Travel another 1/2 mile & right into LCCHS.
From I-15 take highway 78 west. Exit Hwy. 78 at Rancho Santa Fe Rd. and travel south (left turn from freeway exit). Continue on Rancho Santa Fe Rd. for several miles until you descend into and ascend out of a canyon – shortly thereafter, you will reach the intersection at La Costa Ave. where you will turn left. After about 1/2 mile, La Costa Ave. offers a right turn lane, puts you on Camino De Los Coches. Travel another 1/2 mile & turn left into LCCHS.

Topics:
Policy – Resolved: The United States federal government should substantially increase its exploration and/or development of space beyond the Earth’s mesosphere.
LD – Resolved: It is morally permissible for victims to use deadly force as a deliberate response to repeated domestic violence.
Public Forum – Resolved: The costs of a college education outweigh the benefits.
Entry Limitations: This tournament is open only to schools in the San Diego Imperial Valley Speech League. Each competitor may enter up to two events, with a maximum of one each day.
Judges: Each school should bring 1 judge for every two debate teams and 1 judge for every 4 LD debaters. Schools with not enough judges attending will not compete.
Entry Fees: $20.00 per team in Policy, Parliamentary and Public Forum Debate and $10.00 per LD entry
Entry Deadline: Entries must be posted on www.forensicstournament.net by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, January 23. No new teams or students may add after the entry deadline. The only changes allowed after the entry deadline is dropping entries (see below).
Drops: Dropped entries will be accepted without charge until Wednesday, January 25, at 3:30 p.m. After that time, the website will be closed and entry fees will be final. Please email or call in (number pending) your drops after the drop deadline, even as late as 3:30 p.m. on Friday to obviate excessive changes at the beginning of the tournament When calling in or emailing drops, be sure to give the speaker’s name, event, and your school clearly.
