<p>Greetings to all the middle school speech and debate clubs and schools!</p>
<p>On Friday, December 1st, Walter Reed Middle School will be hosting the second speech tournament of the 2017-2018 school year, and we hope that your school or organization will be joining us. </p>
<p><strong>Entries:</strong></p>
<p>Entries are due on 11/22/17.</p>

<p><strong>Duet Acting: </strong>This event requires students to perform published plays with both physical and eye contact permissible. Props are not allowed, and there is a 7 minute time limit.</p>

<p><strong>Schedule:</strong></p>
<p>3:15-Judges meet for training in the Cafeteria</p>
<p>3:30 – All schools meet in the auditorium for announcements; Postings will be made on the wall outside.</p>
<p>3:45 – Doors close for Round 1</p>
<p>4:30 ish – Second round postings</p>
<p>4:45 – Doors close for Round 2</p>
<p>5:30ish – Third round postings</p>
<p>5:45 – Doors close for Round 3</p>
<p>6:30ish - Dinner Break (and tallying)</p>
<p>7:15 – Final Round Postings</p>
<p>8:30– Awards Ceremony in auditorium</p>
<p><strong>Food:</strong></p>
<p>Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase between rounds. Tacos and pizza will be available for purchase as well. </p>
<p><strong>Judging Requirements:</strong></p>
<p>Each participating school or organization is being asked to supply <strong>1 judge per 5 entries</strong>. Judging numbers and names should be submitted up to one week before the tournament or an "insufficient judges" fee will apply.</p>
<p>$100/judge fee (one judge per 5 students)</p>
<p>We don’t want your money, we want your judges! However, please inform your judges that they MUST be here for the training in order to help out. </p>
<p>Judges training will be held in the media center (library) at <strong>3:15pm</strong>. </p>

<p><strong>Parking:</strong></p>
<p>There is a large parking lot and street parking at the front of the school.</p>
<p><strong>Registration:</strong></p>
<p>Upon arrival, please look for signs to the cafeteria. Teams and judges will be registered there. Competitors should wait in the auditorium or rose garden area outside the cafeteria for the 3:30 announcements. If a coach is not present at the tournament, a person of record must be present that is responsible for all the entries from a given organization. A contact number of someone on campus must be given upon registration.</p>
