<p>September 8, 2014</p> <p>Greetings!</p> <p>It&rsquo;s that time of year again! The Rio Hondo College Forensics Speech and Debate Extramural is scheduled for <strong>Friday, November 7th 2014 from 11:30 AM - 8:00 PM</strong>. We will offer three-person team Parliamentary Debate, Original Oratory (informative and persuasive speeches), Oral Interpretation and Impromptu Speaking. All participants earn speaker certificates and we will also continue to reward top speakers with trophies!</p> <p>We encourage you and your students to participate. The tournament invite can be found at <strong>www.forensicstournament.net </strong>where you can also submit your entries.<strong> Entries&nbsp;are due Tuesday, October 21st by 7:00 PM. </strong>Entries will be taken on a first come, first serve basis. Depending on room availability, we may need to limit entries for each school. Therefore, please make note of the due date and make sure to get all your student entries in early or right on time. Participant fees can be paid the day of the tournament during registration. Please make checks payable to: &nbsp;<span style=\"line-height:1.6em\">RHC Forensics Program ASO Acct# 4293.</span></p> <p>Students may enter in up to two individual events <em>or </em>parli debate for a nominal <strong>$10 per individual event or $30 per parli debate team. </strong>All proceeds got to the Rio Hondo College Forensics program and help offset the cost of the tournament. Schools must provide one judge for every two debate teams or every five individual events. If you have special circumstances and are unable to fulfill your complete judging commitment, please contact me as far in advance as possible, and we will do our best to accommodate. We also need all judges for the tournament to be available from 11:45 AM - 6:00 PM. This year meals will be brown bag. Please notify students to pack dinner. Water and snacks will be available in the student and judge lounge.</p> <p><span style=\"line-height:1.6em\">There are three reasons why I highly encourage you to register, 1) this is a late start one day tournament 2) this is one of the only tournaments that combine high school and college students competing against one another and 3) this tournament is super fun!</span></p> <p>We look forward toward hosting you and your students.
