<p>The National Comprehensive Tournament is intended, first and foremost, as an education opportunity for students from throughout the collegiate forensic community. While this tournament includes a variety of events, it is intended to showcase the breadth of intercollegiate forensics. As such, this tournament hosts and encourages students to participate in a breadth of events. In particular, the tournament celebrates the role of honoraries in promoting a balance of education and competition within an environment of comprehensive participation. </p>

<p>We are thrilled to invite you to the National Comprehensive Tournament, sponsored by Pi Kappa Delta, to be held March 16-20. 2016. The University of Kentucky will be hosting us, with competition being held Thursday through Sunday on its gorgeous campus. All schools and students participating in this year’s NCT will need to be members of Pi Kappa Delta in good standing. </p>

<p>Included in the tournament’s offerings are reader’s theatre, student congress, all 11 AFA-NIET events, editorial impromptu, interviewing, and multiple debate formats including Worlds, NFA-LD, NPDA, Public Forum, and IPDA, as well as an on-line “pitch” event. The tournament also offers elimination rounds in most every event, along with multiple sweepstakes categories, debate speaker awards in all divisions, and pentathlon awards for excellence in a breadth of individual events. Tournament director Scott Jensen will be assisted by Robert Markstrom (McNeese State University) as individual event coordinator and John Boyer (Lafayette College) as debate coordinator. Local arrangements will be headed up by Timothy Bill from the University of Kentucky. These individuals will be joined by a number of other host and tournament staff members, insuring a professionally and efficiently run event!</p>

<p>We hope you will join us when we gather in Lexington this March. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a comprehensive national tournament that provides competitive and educational opportunities for all your team members. </p>

<p>Please note the important deadline of <strong>Monday, February 15th for making hotel reservations and entering the tournament.</strong> No guarantee of participation will be extended to schools that don’t meet the <strong>February 15th </strong>entry deadline.</p>
