<h2>You are cordially invited to attend the Dusty Roads Invitational Speech Tournament December 2nd and 3rd, 2016 at Capital High School in Helena, Montana </h2>
<p>CARROLL COLLEGE will be hosting the annual Debate Tournament of Champions the same weekend. Invitation and information for that Tournament will be forthcoming from Brent Northup, Carrol College Head Coach.</p>
<p>YOU MUST REGISTER SEPERATELY FOR HELENA DUSTY ROADS SPEECH TOURNAMENT AND CARROLL DEBATE TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS.</p>
<p>All Speech events and Legislative Debate will be held at Capital High School (100 Valley Drive).</p>
<p><strong>Entry Deadline:</strong> Preliminary registration is due no later than 4:00pm on Monday, November 21st. All entries must be entered at <a href=\"http://www.forensicstournament.net\">http://www.forensicstournament.net</a>. Changes to registration will be accepted electronically on the website until Thursday, December 1st at NOON. There will be no penalty fee for drops or changes up to Thursday, December 1st at NOON. Any changes after this deadline must be submitted by email to <a href=\"mailto:JKHermanson@gmail.com\">JKHermanson@gmail.com</a>. Any changes on Friday, December 2nd must be submitted by phone or text to Jennifer Hermanson at 406-531-7449.</p>
<p><strong>Fees:</strong> Each entry will be charged $5.00 (the charge will be $10 for duo). Each school will also be charged a $20 school fee. Any changes to your registration after Thursday, December 1st at Noon will be assessed a $5.00 penalty; Any changes on Friday, Dec 2nd will be assessed a $20.00 penalty.</p>
<p><strong>Entries</strong><strong>:</strong> Schools may enter up to 4 entries in each event. We will also accept up to FIVE additional JV entries (Double entry counts as two, Duo counts as two). JV must be entered under a separate JV code. We hope this will allow you to bring most all your speech students as well as a couple extra in the events where you have more than 4 competitors.</p>
<p><strong>Tab Room/Draw:</strong> Please email <a href=\"mailto:JKHermanson@gmail.com\">JKHermanson@gmail.com</a> and let us know which of your coaches will be attending the Speech Tournament and their tabbing preferences. Please also nominate at least one coach to serve in extemp draw. </p>
<p><strong>Concessions</strong> will be available to students. If you would like to arrange for group billing, please let me know. We are happy to track your students’ purchases and invoice you for the total amount. There will be a hospitality room provided for coaches and drivers.</p>
<p><strong>Student area: </strong>At the request of Administration, we must require all students to utilize the cafeteria as the student area. We will not allow hallways, stairwells, or other spaces to be used as lounge areas. Please be respectful of this and ask your students to use the cafeteria between rounds.</p>
<p><strong>Legislative Debate Topics</strong>: Domestic = American Prison System, Foreign = Demilitarization.</p>
<p><strong>Rules:</strong> All events will be conducted according to the AA rules of the 2016-2017 MHSA Handbook.</p>
<p><strong>Program Oral Interpretation:</strong> We will host Program Oral Interpretation at this tournament. POI will be conducted according to National Speech and Debate Association rules with MHSA style ballots. Program Oral Interpretation will count toward School Sweepstakes points with the same points allocated for POI as other IE events. </p>
