<p>We are grateful and humbled by the number of students that attended our inaugural event on October 8. It was amazing to see how many young people wanted to develop their skills in all aspects of communication. &nbsp;Let&rsquo;s continue developing those skills at our next event on November 5.</p> <p>Remember if you attended our October 8 tournament we will have a free workshop on November 4 at CSU, Fullerton. A sign up link for the workshop will be posted soon.</p> <h1><strong>Round 1 Pairings will be emailed to coaches on November 4 at 5:00 PM.&nbsp;</strong></h1> <p><strong>The theme of this tournament is &ldquo;Sacrifice&rdquo;. Students will have the opportunity to explore sacrifice&nbsp;in multiple speech and debate events. </strong></p> <p><strong>This tournament will have events for 4 age groups:</strong></p> <p><strong>K-3rd Little Orators (Please see below)</strong></p> <p><strong>3rd &ndash; 5th Grades: Elementary</strong></p> <p><strong>6th &ndash; 8th Grades: Middle School</strong></p> <p><strong>9th &ndash; 12th Grades: High School</strong></p> <p><strong>Novice Events</strong></p> <p>We are offering novice in elementary school Impromptu and SPAR. These events are for students who are attending their very first tournament and students in 3rd grade.</p> <p><strong>ESL</strong></p> <p>In addition to a novice division we are offering a division for English language learners. This event is for students who consider English their second language and still struggle with speaking English. The two divisions will be upper, and lower. The lower division will be 3rd through 6th. The upper division will be 7th through 12th. The events will be SPAR and Impromptu.</p>
