<p>Dear Colleagues:</p>
<p>Mt. Hood Community College invites you and your students to attend the Casual Fling Tournament held on the MHCC campus Friday and Saturday, May 9-10, 2014. We hope you will take this opportunity to attend this very unique end of the year tournament </p>
<p>The goal of this tournament is to let our hair down after a long season and just enjoy ourselves!!! Being casual is the idea. Therefore, the dress code will be relaxed, but keep it appropriate. We will be offering IPDA debate, 3 IE events, including Tabloid Extemp, Situational Impromptu, and the ever popular Bad Interp. </p>
<p>This year we are going to try something different. We are shortening the tournament so that teams can participate along with hundreds of volunteers across the Portland Metro Area for the biggest one-day food drive of the year, the National Association of Letter Carriers Food Drive. There is a need for volunteers to be at the Gresham Post Office to help unload and box food up so it can be brought back to the Oregon Food Bank. </p>
<p>We encourage all schools to join MHCC by putting all of our conversations about social justice and improving the world to work by volunteering a couple of hours of our time to help thousands of families across Northern Oregon and Southwest Washington. (Fast Fact: <strong>270,000 people</strong> per month eat meals from emergency food boxes. That's half of Portland's population. Of those, <strong>92,000 are children</strong>. Since the beginning of the Great Recession in 2008, emergency food box distribution has increased 41 percent. – Oregon Food Bank Website).</p>
<p>We hope that many of you will be able to attend. You will be forever impacted by this tournament!!!! Trust us, you will never be the same!</p>
