<p>Greetings to all the middle school debate clubs and schools!</p>
<p>On Saturday, October 31, 2015 (Halloween), La Reina School will be hosting our league’s first debate tournament of the 2015-2016 school year. It will be held at La Reina School in Thousand Oaks, CA.</p>

<p>Entries:</p>
<p>Entries will be open until Friday, October 30 at 8:00am or until the tournament is full. After that, only Drops will be accepted. You may register your school and competitors at the following address: <a href=\"http://www.forensicstournament.net/\">http://www.forensicstournament.net/</a> </p>
<p>NOTE: This tournament is only for schools within the SCJFL League and we will also close the registration when all rooms are full. Please register early to ensure your team’s participation in this tournament.</p>
<p> Fees:</p>
<p>League Dues:</p>
<p>$200 for school league fee (will only apply once this school year and will go to league needs throughout the year.) See Robert Cannon for details if this is your first tournament of the school year.</p>

<p>Team debate will use the 2014-2015 resolution. </p>
<p>Resolved: The United States federal government should substantially curtail its domestic surveillance.</p>
<p>Time limits for team debate are 8-3-5 with 8 minutes of preparation per debate team. </p>
<p>L-D debate will use the 2014 NSDA September/October Resolution: </p>
<p>Resolved: Adolescents ought to have the right to make autonomous medical choices.</p>
<p>Time limits for LD are 6-3-7-3-4-6-3, with 3 minutes of preparation time per debater. </p>
<p>Public Forum (PoFo) 2014 NSDA Spetember/October Public Forum </p>
<p>Resolved: The United States Federal Government ought to pay reparations to African Americans.</p>

<p>Schedule:</p>
<p>7:30 – 8:30 am All schools register outside the Gym Postings in the Cafeteria</p>
<p>9:00 am – Round 1 begin (Rounds follow and may be double flighted)</p>
<p>5:30 pm – Meet in Cafeteria for Awards </p>
<p>Food will be sold at the tournament. </p>
<p>Food will be provided free of charge to all judges and volunteers.</p>

<p>Judging Requirements:</p>
<p>1. Each participating school or organization is being asked to supply 1 judge per 2 entries. </p>
<p>2. All judges’ must be registered by 10/30/15. </p>
<p>3. Also, coaches must arrive with the judges’ form filled out for record keeping and efficient category assignments. The judges’ form is available at <a href=\"http://www.scjfl.weebly.com/\">www.scjfl.weebly.com</a>.</p>
<p>4. All judges MUST BE PRESENT AT THE JUDGES’ TRAINING or they will not be permitted to judge during the tournament and the judges’ fee will apply.</p>
<p>5. Penalty for missing judges is $100 (one judge per 2 entries)</p>
